The kids were playing something and it came to the all-important time to choose your make-believe name. Caleb chose Brian. Izzy chose Allen. Maggie chose Tina. Joshua, my token blonde and only all-american looking child, chose Jamal. (He loves Jamal Lewis.) It was even funnier that the others didn't bat an eye. They just went with it. ("hey, Jamal, come over here next to Brian and Tina...")

Laurie, that is great! I think perhaps every one of us has had the dream of being a professional sports star at one time or another. And perhaps Josh realizes the significant ratio difference between black and white football players?!! He knew his chances would be better with a name like Jamal?! =)
